Connecting Classic Internal Bug Tracking Projects with Redmine

Redmine and Usersnap can be easily connected.

Here's how it works:

It is recommended to create a special user for the Usersnap reports.

Due to a known Redmine bug, API users need the administrator right to list users and issue categories via the REST API. Please check the Administrator checkbox while creating your user.
You can choose to leave the Administrator setting off, but having the choice to assign issues directly to a user is normally the best option.

You will need to enable the API support on your Redmine instance. Go to Administration > Settings >Authentication and enable 'REST web service'.

Go to My Account section and click on show API access key.
Copy the API key. You will need this when you connect Usersnap to Redmine.

Please make sure that your Redmine project is enabled for the Tracker you choose when connecting Usersnap to Redmine.

If you have a self-hosted on-premise instance of Redmine, please make sure your integration server allows access from our rendering IPs and if you are using SSL, that you have valid certificates in place. You can check out SSL Labs certificate.

Log in to your Usersnap account or sign up for a free trial.

Go to your Usersnap QA project’s 3rd Party Integration tab and select Redmine from the grid.

Enter your Redmine URL and the API key of your Redmine account.

Click on 'Connect now!'. You can now choose the Redmine project where you want to send your Usersnap screens. You can also choose an assignee, tracker, priority, version and issue category.

Click 'Save' and start sending your Usersnap screens directly to your Redmine project.
